Geography field work - Rocks - Stamford Park

The Year 3 children enjoyed a trip to Stamford Park, where we searched for lots of different kinds of rocks. We found natural rocks such as sedimentary, igneous and metamorphic rocks, all of which had been transported to the park from other locations. We also found some concrete bricks and tarmac, which are man-made rocks. The children sketched the rocks, named them and identified their location on a map of the park.
